Under Louis XVI, Parisian bronze makers produced a celebrated wall light, the applique aux cors de chasse, with candle arms shaped as coiled French hunting horns hung from a neoclassical trophy of ribbons, leaves and tassels.

The Chasse Single is the one-light version of our Chasse Double Wall Light. A tied ribbon bow tops a reeded staff that leads down to a wreath of oak leaves and acorns around a beaded oval medallion, with tasselled cords falling below. From a fluted cup at the centre, a single hunting horn coils into a full ring, its bell flaring into a leafy acanthus mouth, while its tube rises straight up as the candle stem. A cream bell shade with a scalloped hem, fine dark seams and braided gimp trim sits on top. The antique finish settles darker into the leaves and folds of the casting.

What makes the Chasse Single distinctive

Hunting-horn arm: A coiled French horn cast in brass, with a flared acanthus bell and a straight candle stem.

Neoclassical trophy: Ribbon bow, oak leaves and acorns, a beaded oval medallion and tasselled cords.

Scalloped fabric shade: Cream bell shade with dark seams and braided trim, for a warm, softened glow.

Made to order in India: From Delhi Brass, a fourth-generation lighting and decorative metalwork company.

Materials & dimensions

Material: Cast brass, with a fabric shade

Finish: Antique brass

Height: 21 inches / 53.3 cm

Width: 6 inches / 15.2 cm

Projection from wall: 9.5 inches / 24.1 cm

Light source: One E14 bulb (not included)

Warranty: 2 years

Product code: 10872

Finding the right spot

The Chasse Single is slim enough for narrow walls.
