The Mala Wall Light takes its name from the mala, a string of beads. A slender brass hairpin rises from a round backplate, and around it runs a garland of seventeen polished wood beads, each finished with a small brass ball on its outer side. Below, a ribbed brass collar, worked in tight horizontal rings, holds a frosted glass globe that softens the light into an even, warm glow.

Switched off, it reads as a small sculpture on the wall: dark wood against antique brass, the rhythm of the beads, the ribbed collar catching the light. Switched on, the globe becomes a soft orb of light, at home beside a bed, along a corridor or on either side of a mirror.

Finding the right spot

Beside a bed, mount Mala above each bedside table so the globe sits a little above shoulder height when you are sitting up. In a corridor or beside a mirror, place it at about eye level. For the softest glow, use a warm white (2700K to 3000K) E14 LED bulb.

Care

Switch off at the mains before cleaning. Dust the brass and wood with a soft, dry cloth, and wipe the glass globe with a barely damp cloth once it is cool. Avoid metal polish, abrasives, chemical cleaners, and water on the wood.

Before you order

Mala is made to order and priced per light. It takes one E14 bulb, which is not included, and comes with a 2-year warranty. Production takes 10–14 days, followed by 4–6 days for delivery.
