Compare installed main gate styles
The Fluted Steel Main Gate uses vertical panels for a screened contemporary entrance. The Floral Jali Wood Main Gate places decorative metal panels over opaque wood boards for privacy, while the Stout Horizontal Steel Gate uses broad horizontal lines. Each is made to the site opening, with material, finish and operating arrangement agreed from drawings. Production takes 14–21 days from approved drawings, followed by 4–6 days for delivery; installation is confirmed with your quotation. There is no standard opening, so there is no standard gate.
A gate answers to the space it sits in: the width between the piers, the fall of the drive, the weight the hinges carry. Every design here can be redrawn to your dimensions, in another material, at another scale.

Common questions
Main gate design, sizes and metals
A main gate is the first thing anyone sees of a house and the piece of metalwork that takes the most weather and the most use. These are the questions we are asked most often about modern main gate design, laser cutting gate patterns and choosing between sliding and swing.
What is the standard size of a main gate in India?
A driveway gate is usually 10 to 12 feet wide for a single car entrance and 14 to 16 feet where two cars pass, with a height of 6 to 8 feet depending on the boundary wall. There is no true standard, though, because the piers decide it. We measure the opening and redraw the design to your dimensions.
Should I choose a sliding or a swing main gate?
A sliding gate needs a clear run of wall alongside the opening roughly equal to the gate width, and suits a narrow plot where a swinging leaf would foul the drive. A swing gate needs depth inside the boundary and a level approach, but is simpler mechanically and quieter. The fall of the driveway usually settles the argument.
What is a laser-cut jali gate?
A steel or brass sheet cut by CNC laser into a pattern, set into the gate frame as a panel. It gives privacy while letting light and air through, and carries fine geometry cleanly at large sizes. Sheet thickness matters: too thin and a large panel flexes, so we specify to the span rather than to a catalogue number.
Which metal is best for a main gate?
Wrought and cast iron take ornament and scrollwork and suit heritage or classical houses. Mild steel with a laser-cut jali is the contemporary choice and the most economical at scale. Weathering steel gives a warm oxide crust with no coating. Wood-and-steel combinations warm a hard entrance but need the timber specified for exterior use.
How much does a custom main gate cost?
It depends on the width of the opening, the metal, the sheet thickness and how much hand-forged ornament the design carries, plus whether automation is fitted. Every gate here is priced on request once we have the opening dimensions.
How long does a custom gate take to make?
Production takes 14–21 days from approved drawings, followed by 4–6 days for delivery. Installation and automation are confirmed in your quotation.
