Florentine Scrollwork Metal Main Gate

The Florentine Scrollwork Metal Main Gate is a classical entrance gate with the weight and presence of traditional ironwork, interpreted with cleaner proportions for a residential setting. A solid lower section gives privacy at street level, while the upper field is composed of balanced scrollwork, vertical members and restrained finial details.

Material

• Fabricated mild steel structural frame
• Forged mild steel flat-bar scrollwork
• Cast and fabricated metal finials and collar details

Technique

The main frame is welded and reinforced for outdoor use, with the decorative upper section built from individually formed flat bars rather than thin laser-cut sheet. Scrolls are shaped, fitted and welded into the frame, then dressed by hand so the intersections read as proper metalwork rather than surface ornament. Cast or fabricated finials are mechanically and structurally fixed to the top rail, and the hinge and automation system is engineered to suit the final gate span.

Finish

Shown in a blackened bronze finish with subtle antique-brass highlights at selected collars and intersections. The surface is intentionally low sheen, with controlled tonal variation that gives depth to the scrollwork while maintaining an architectural, not theatrical, appearance.

Made to order. Height, opening width, scrollwork density, level of privacy, finish, finial profile and automation can be customised to the architecture of the property.
