Description
A sleek Art Deco table lamp: a glossy black ceramic torpedo body between gold-tone metal collars, on a square stepped pedestal under a black pleated shade trimmed in gold.

The torpedo, or baluster, column is one of the classic forms of 1930s Art Deco design. Its long, tapering curve suggested speed and modernity, and designers paired dark lacquer or ceramic with gleaming metal to make the outline stand out.
This lamp follows that idea. A glossy black ceramic body narrows gently toward the foot and is held between ribbed metal collars in a gold-tone finish, above a square stepped pedestal. A black pleated shade with gold trim at the top and bottom repeats the colours of the base.

Finding the right spot
At 31 inches tall with a wide shade, it suits a side table beside a sofa, a console, or a pair of bedside tables. It works well in rooms with dark wood, marble or velvet. Use a warm white (2700K) bulb.
Care
Switch off and let the bulb cool before cleaning. Wipe the ceramic with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry it. Dust the metal fittings with a dry cloth, and freshen the shade with a soft brush. Avoid abrasives and chemical cleaners, which can damage the finish.

This table lamp is made to order. It takes one E27 bulb, which is not included, and comes with a 2-year warranty. Production takes 10–14 days, followed by 4–6 days for delivery.
