Dancing figures have been a favourite subject for sculptors since antiquity, from Greek bronzes to the Art Deco dancers of the 1920s and 1930s, when small figure sculptures were often made into lamps for living rooms and studies. A figure in motion brings energy to a room in a way that a plain base cannot.

This lamp is made in brass and finished in a dark bronze tone. Three slender figures turn and stretch around the central stem on a round foot, each in a different pose, so the lamp looks different from every side. A cream pleated empire shade sits above and lets the figures take the attention.

Finding the right spot

At 25 inches tall, it suits a console, a side table or a desk where the figures can be seen up close. Give it a plain wall behind and a little space around it. Use a warm white (2700K) bulb.

Care

Switch off and let the bulb cool before cleaning. Dust the figures with a soft, dry brush to reach between the limbs. Do not polish the dark bronze finish. Avoid abrasive pads and chemical cleaners, which will strip it. Freshen the shade with a soft brush.

This table lamp is made to order. It takes one E27 bulb, which is not included, and comes with a 2-year warranty. Production takes 10–14 days, followed by 4–6 days for delivery.
